Spark...What is it?

Here’s a quaint video that reveals the big mystery

THE “WHY”

Our mission for improving the business program

Success in business school is not only about the job you get or your grades.

Success is a deep sense of purpose, impact and connection to yourself and others.

Turning negatives to positives

We have identified three major forces that are negatively impacting the B-School.

We’re responding by re-thinking our culture and taking action through Spark.

01

Singularity

Combatting Imposter Syndrome: A belief that there is only one model of success here.

02

Dynamic

We define success in many ways. We value your strengths, identities & passions and we want you to become an entrepreneur of your own life.

03

Isolation

Loneliness, anxiety and a lack of connection are a new normal on college campuses, including at UNC.

04

High-touch

Transformation can only happen through interactions. Building a connected community of peers, mentors, faculty and staff build engagement, focus and quite simply, joy.

05

Ancient

The world is changing at an exponentially faster pace than ever before but most business schools still operate with 20th century models and principles.

06

Leaps of Faith

We encourage an experimental mindset. We see the future as thrilling and hope to train you to be nimble, adaptable thought leaders who operate with deep character.

Our Guiding
Principles

The six principles we practice and strive to embody.

01

Be curious.

02

Be purpose-ful.

03

Be humble.

04

Be true.

05

Be kind.

06

Be agile.
